GUWAHATI: Bud Cricket Club and City Cricket Club secured victories in their respective matches at the GTC Men’s Summer Challenge T20 Trophy, held at Judges Field here today.

Bud Cricket Club registered a 6-wicket win over 91 Yards Club, thanks to impressive half-centuries by SK Jnyanan and Diwiz Pathak. Chasing 129, Bud reached the target in just 15.5 overs, with Jnyanan remaining unbeaten on 59 off 42 balls (8 fours, 1 six), while Pathak smashed 53 off 32 deliveries (5 fours, 3 sixes). Earlier, 91 Yards Club managed 128 for 9 in their 20 overs, with Parvej Musaraf top-scoring with 40. Kaushik Giri and Abhilash Gogoi picked up two wickets each for Bud.

In the second match of the day, City Cricket Club overcame Navajyoti Club by 14 runs in a closely contested game. Batting first, City put up a total of 156 for 6, with valuable contributions from Rohan Hazarika (38), Rajjakuddin Ahmed (32), and Rajeev Dubey (32). Navajyoti’s Dharani Rabha was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 15.

In reply, Navajyoti Club fell short, finishing at 142 for 9 despite a spirited effort by Nihar Deka (47) and Kuldeep Gogoi (46). City’s Tarjinder Singh was the standout performer, delivering a match-winning spell of 5 for 17.
