GUWAHATI: A brilliant bowling performance by Aysusman Malakar (4/26) helped Bud Cricket Club to secure a 19-run win over City Cricket Club in the GTC Men’s Summer Challenge T20 Trophy at Judges Field today.
Batting first, Bud Cricket Club posted a competitive total of 147 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Vikash Yadav led the charge with a solid 45 (33 balls, 4X2, 6X3), supported by Nibir Deka who contributed 22. Among the City CC bowlers, Rajjak Uddin Ahmed (2/18), Sidhartha Baruah (2/27), and Rabi Chetry (2/31) shared the wickets.
In response, City Cricket Club were bowled out for 128 in 14.3 overs. Rajjak Uddin Ahmed top-scored with 34 (16 balls, 4X3, 6X3), while Nasir Ullah (27) and Rohan Hazarika (24) made useful contributions. However, Aysusman Malakar’s match-winning spell dismantled the middle order, with support from Pushparaj Sharma who picked up 2 for 19.
Meanwhile in the other match, which was reduced to five overs per side due to wet ground, Navarang Club secured a convincing 27-run victory over 91 Yards Club.
Batting first, Navarang Club posted 62-4 in their 5 overs, powered by an explosive knock from Ram Kishan Sharma, who smashed 26 off just 11 balls with the help of one boundary and three sixes. Rishabh Dipak was the pick of the bowlers for 91 Yards Club, finishing with 2 for 25.
In reply, 91 Yards Club could manage 35 for 5 in their allotted overs. Navarang’s bowlers dominated the innings, with Ram Kishan Sharma and Bikiran Das taking two wickets each, sealing a comprehensive win for their side.
