GUWAHATI: Both semi-final league matches of the 2nd Pulin Das U-14 Inter-District Cricket Tournament were abandoned due to rain on Thursday, resulting in points being shared among the teams.
At the ACA Cricket Academy Ground in North Guwahati, only the first innings was completed in the match between Sribhumi and Barpeta. Batting first, Sribhumi posted a total of 260 all out in 40 overs. Choudhury Md Umar top-scored with 75, while Shahriar Ahmed (41) and Bishal Deb (36) also made key contributions. For Barpeta, Shantanu Yadav and Manash picked up three wickets each, returning figures of 3/36 and 3/39 respectively. Meanwhile, at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara, Dibrugarh were 46 for 4 in pursuit of a 105-run target against Hojai when rain forced the match to be called off. Earlier, Hojai were bowled out for 104 in 35.4 overs, with Divyam Kumar (30) and Bratin Sharma (28) being the top scorers. Shamim Ahmed impressed with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 19 runs.
