ABU DHABI: Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by 6 wickets to register their fifth win in IPL 2021 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Tuesday and reached the fifth spot in the points table. Chasing 136 to win, the defending champion reached the target in 19th over losing 4 wickets. Hardik Pandya scored 17 runs in that over which was bowled by Mohammad Shami. He remained unbeaten at 40 off 30 balls. Saurabh Tiwary contributed 45 off 37 balls.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians put up a clinical show with the ball to restrict Punjab Kings to 135/6. For Mumbai, Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard took two wickets each while Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar had one scalp each.
Aiden Markram (42) was the top scorer for the Kings. Captain KL Rahul scored 21 while Chris Gayle (1) failed.
