Guwahati: Garima Saikia Garg, wife of late music legend Zubeen Garg, has made an emotional appeal urging everyone to refrain from politicising the “Justice for Zubeen” movement.

Speaking to the media on Thursday night, Garima said, “Politics should never enter a space where Zubeen never wanted it to be. My family and I do not want any politics in this matter. From the very beginning, we have appealed for peace. There is no religion or language angel here. We do not want politics from any side during this movement seeking justice for Zubeen Garg.”

Her statement comes amid growing concern that the investigation into Zubeen Garg’s death is being used for political mileage by certain individuals and groups. Many from civil society and among Zubeen’s fans have voiced fears that the demand for a fair and transparent probe could be overshadowed by political agendas.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case returned from Singapore on Thursday night. Headed by Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta, the team is expected to brief the media at 12 PM today, sharing the details about the evidence and findings gathered during their investigation abroad.
