Guwahati: In a major development in the high-profile Zubeen Garg death case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has summoned Sanjive Narain, Chief Managing Director of Prag News, for questioning today.

Narain, who was present at the port in Singapore immediately after Zubeen’s collapse, had rushed the singer to the hospital along with his team. He was also the first to publicly claim that Zubeen died during a scuba-diving incident, a statement that sparked a flurry of speculation and competing narratives. Earlier, Narain revealed at a press conference that he had clicked the first photo of Zubeen in the hospital and noticed visible marks on his lips and unusual discoloration of the body, raising more questions about the nature of the death.

Despite claims that his phone may contain vital evidence, authorities have not seized the device. Meanwhile, two other accused  Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma  remain absconding, and members of the Assam Association of Singapore, also named, are yet to appear.

Narain is expected to undergo a lengthy interrogation today as the SIT intensifies its probe.
