Guwahati : Students of Jorhat Jagannath Barooah (JB) College staged a powerful human chain demonstration today, calling for justice for the late music icon Zubeen Garg. Organised by the university unit of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), the protest saw students holding placards and chanting slogans, urging authorities to ensure a prompt and fair investigation.

Participants emphasised that any delay in the case would amount to an injustice against the memory of the beloved artist, whose contributions to Assam’s cultural heritage remain unmatched. The demonstrators also demanded strict punishment for those responsible, if found guilty, reflecting their collective commitment to truth and accountability.

Speaking to the media, student leaders stated, “We stand united to honour Zubeen Garg’s legacy and ensure that justice is not denied. Our protest is peaceful, but our message is firm: the people of Assam deserve transparency and swift action.”

The event highlighted the deep emotional connection between the students and the late artist, as well as their determination to uphold justice and protect the cultural integrity of the state.
