Early Life

Sabendra Basumatary is the son of Late Jogen Basumatary. He is about 37 years of age and is a resident of Maigaon Thuribari village in the district of Chirang, in Assam.

He is B.A pass from Gauhati University,2008. 

Career and Politics

Sabendra Basumatary contested the 2020 Bodoland Territorial Council elections on a Voters Party International (VPI) ticket from the Kajalgaon (ST) constituency. He lost the election. The seat was won by Paniram Brahma of the BPF (Bodoland People's Front). 

Sabendra Basumatary is contesting from the Bongaigaon constituency on a VPI ticket for the 2021 Assam Assembly elections.
