Sentinel Digital Desk

In a sudden attack of a gunman who entered into a supermarket in Kentucky, two people losses life. The gunman first shot a man dead inside the store and then released firing on a woman in the parking lot. The attack took place at around 2:30 p.m. EDT (1900 GMT) at a Kroger Co supermarket on Wednesday.

The armed security personnel present in the store, however, opened fire on the gunman despite which the miscreant fled in a car. The shooter was later taken into custody by the cops, which is being confirmed by Jeffersontown Police Chief Sam Rogers. As stated by the police, apart from the two people who are shot dead, there are no further cases of injuries.

One of the witnesses of the attack, Zinninger told the media that she had to plead the shooter for her life in the following words, “He [the armed man] said, please don’t shoot and I won’t shoot you, whites don’t kill whites.”

It has to be mentioned in this context that the woman who was later found dead in the parking lot was black. From this incident, it can also be derived that the shooter might be a racist and might have performed the crime driven by racist feelings.

Speaking about the female victim, Rogers also added, “It does appear she was a random victim out in the parking lot.”

The names of the suspect and victims are not released yet.
