In a sudden attack of a suicide bomber who blew himself up near the gate of Afghanistan’s largest prison on Wednesday, six people died and three others were injured. However, there was no immediate claim of responsibility.
As stated by Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish, the attacker detonated his explosive near a vehicle of the employees of the Pul-e-Charki prison in Kabul.
A government official states, “The attacker walked towards a vehicle that was parked at a gate for security clearance. He blew himself up before the vehicle could enter the prison premises.”
The people present in the vehicle parked near the prison were women security officials who mainly lost their lives in the suicide bombing.
Notably, there were hundreds of inmates, including scores of Taliban insurgents in Pul-e-Charkhi prison.
