APCC Secretary resigns from post, blames Ripun Borah for plotting conspiracy against him

Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) secretary Partha Pratim Bora on Monday resigned from his present post blaming Ripun Bora’s involvement in plotting a political conspiracy against him. He further alleged that Congress is going through a very dark phase under the leadership of Ripun Borah.

Addressing a press meet at Hotel Shoolin Grand in Guwahati, Parth Pratim Bora alleged that Ripun Bora has pushed the entire party into darkness. “Though I have good terms with Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, but I never betrayed the Congress party. My family and relatives have been in the Congress party since ages; therefore, I respect the ideology of the party and decided not to resign earlier,” said Partha Pratim Borah.

Partha Pratim Bora also informed that he had demanded a ticket from Sotia Constituency for 2016 Legislative Assembly Elections, but the party didn’t give him any ticket.

He was also served with show cause notice earlier by then APCC President Ripun Borah last year, to which, Partha Pratim Bora said that it is not possible for him to reply every show cause notices on every single issue. “Ripun Borah doesn’t allow young and active youths from Youth Congress to progress or shine in their respective party works. Ripun Borah always plotted a political conspiracy against me,” alleged Partha Pratim Bora.

It is to be noted that Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) earlier suspended Secretary Partha Pratim Bora’s primary membership from the Indian National Congress on June 9, 2018. The then statement said that Bora has been accused of indulging in anti-party activities and has been suspended with immediate effect.

Partha Pratim further claimed that people inside the party engaged in appeasing Ripun Borah gets more importance and position else they are served with show cause notices.

“80 seats for 2021 assembly polls in Assam will a big failure if Ripun Bora continues as the President of the party. I am not going to join any political party and will wait for the day when there will be rejuvenation in the party,” Partha stated further.
