Aruchal under Discovery Channel's radar

Itagar, May 26: In all 17 crew members of Discovery Channel led by director M Josephhas started shooting for an adventure travel show at picturesque Bomdila in West Kameng district on Wednesday. The crew which started with an early morning sun rise shot from Bomdila Pass also visited the GRL Mostary, a press release informed.

The day’s schedule also included shooting adventure activities which was conducted by ace mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa under the aegis of Aruchal Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Association (AMASA).

These included rock climbing, rappelling, and tent pitching demo at AMASA rock fields which was followed by trekking trip from Bomdila Pass to Sera Village Hill Top.

Assistant Director Omkar Pathak stated that they came all the way to Bomdila to meet ace mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa who is the only Indian woman mountaineer to summit Mt Everest thrice. “Anshu’s mountaineering achievement has indeed motivated and inspired scores of youths to take up the mountaineering and adventure sports in a big way,” he added.

Pathak also informed that the programme would be telecasted under a brand new adventure travel show known as #India MyWay sometime in first week of September next.

Anchor Paloma of Discovery Channel stated that she found Anshu very composed and it comfortable to shoot with. She also expressed awestruck with the tural beauty of Aruchal Pradesh in general and West Kameng in particular.
