Covid-19: Janata Curfew on Sunday, announces PM Modi

New Delhi: In order to tackle coronavirus Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that a Janata Curfew would be observed on March 22 from 7AM to 9PM. It means that on Sunday no people in the country would be allowed to leave his home between 7 AM to 9 AM. However, all essential services would be exempted from the Curfew, said the PM. The Prime Minister on Thursday evening addressed the nation on the Covid-19. Appealing the people to remain alert on the prevailing situation he said, “I appeal all my country to remain Sajag and Satarka. It would help check the dreaded virus infection.”

The PM also cautioned that it is not a time to be complacent on the novel coronavirus. He further added that the fight against the pandemic will continue. PM Modi addressed the nation at a time when the number of deaths due to the coronavirus infection has increased to four in the country. As per latest data number of the infected people in India swelled to 169. The PM further said, “ The coronavirus has engulfed the entire human race. Our fight will continue against the dreaded virus.”

The PM also thanked the doctors, paramedics, various health department officials and those who are actively involved with the fight to check the Covid-19 infection. Prime Minister said that he directed the BJP MPs to visit their respective constituencies to create awareness among common masses. “I told my party MPs not to panic and visit their respective constituencies to create awareness,” he said. Earlier, PM Modi has held several review meetings on the coronavirus. He also appealed the SAARC nations to take a collective step for dealing with the pandemic.
