Fire Breaks out at 'Harijan Colony' of 4th APBN in Guwahati

Guwahati: Massive fire broke out in the Harijan Colony at around 7.30 p.m today at the 4th Assam Police Battalion in Kahilipara, Guwahati.

As per a report, at least 14 houses were gutted and several others were damaged in a devastating fire rendering more than 50 families shelterless. Properties worth lakhs destroyed during the incident.

So far three people had sustained severe burn injuries during the incident as per a report. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for better treatment.

Local people claimed that the fire broke out due to multiple cylinder blasts.

On the other hand, few claimed that the fire broke out due to the bursting of crackers.

It may be mentioned that the exact reason for the cause is yet to be ascertained.

The local residents also tried to control the fire but failed to challenge the ‘Agni Devta’ (Fire God). By the time the fire tenders reached the spot, maximum houses were reduced into ashes, claimed a report.

Meanwhile, fire tenders managed to get hold of the situation.
