Guwahati: Today, a massive landslide struck Guwahati on Friday, damaging a residential house in the Purbanchal Nagar hills of Hengerabari. The incident caused significant damage to the property after a portion of the hillside gave way.
The family members inside the house narrowly escaped and managed to move to safety before the situation could turn fatal. No casualties have been reported so far.
The incident, a massive landslide occurred in the Haripur area of Krishna Nagar, where a portion of a hill collapsed onto a house near Krishna Nagar High School. The impact caused extensive damage to the residence, while the family members inside escaped unharmed.
Meanwhile, another landslide in Guwahati resulted in the road leading to Gandhi Mandap being blocked after soil and debris from a hillside fell onto the road.
The incidents have raised concerns among residents, particularly those living in hilly areas of the city, amid the risk of further landslides.
