Heavy to very heavy rainfall to paralyze normal life in entire NE within next 5 days: IMD

Guwahati: As according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, rain/thundershowers observed at most places over Sub-Himalayan regions including West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and many other places.

As per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Heavy to very heavy rainfall observed at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya; heavy rainfall observed at isolated places over Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh.

Moreover, thunderstorm observed (from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm of today) at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana, East Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.

Also, the weather forecast for the entire nations states that maximum temperature departures as on 14-07-2019: Maximum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at a few places over Vidarbha and Jharkhand; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Telangana, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha; at a few places over East Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka and Gujarat; at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh, Kerala & Mahe and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Chhattisgarh; at many places over Uttar Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka; at a few places over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at isolated places over Bihar and Konkan & Goa. They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at most places over Punjab; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand; at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest temperature of 42.8°C was recorded at Adilabad (Telangana).

Weather Warning during the next 5 days

There will be heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Assam & Meghalaya over the next few days.

It may also be mentioned that on July 16 in Guwahati, the weather will be generally cloudy with a few spells of rain or thundershowers with thunderstorms on July 18 and partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on July 19.
