Family Horrified After Discovering Reptile Inside Curry Puff Bought for Children
MAHABOOBNAGAR, TELANGANA – In a shocking case of food contamination, a woman in Telangana was horrified to discover a small snake inside a curry puff she had purchased from a local bakery in Jadcharla municipality. The bizarre incident has sparked alarm and led to a formal police complaint against the bakery.
The woman, identified as Srisaila, had bought an egg puff and a curry puff from an Iyengar bakery, intending to share them with her children. Upon returning home and unwrapping the snacks, she was stunned to find what appeared to be a small snake curled inside the curry puff.
Fearing for her family’s safety and outraged by the discovery, Srisaila returned to the bakery to confront the owner. However, she was allegedly met with a careless attitude and vague explanations, with the shopkeeper showing little concern over the serious health risk posed by the contaminated food.
Police Complaint Filed, Probe Underway
Unable to get a satisfactory response from the bakery, Srisaila and her family proceeded to the local police station in Jadcharla, where they lodged a formal complaint. The police have since acknowledged the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
The incident has raised serious questions about hygiene standards in local food outlets, especially bakeries that serve large numbers of customers daily. Locals have called for regular inspections and stricter enforcement of food safety regulations to prevent such dangerous lapses.
Meanwhile, health officials are expected to visit the bakery for inspection, and further action may be taken depending on the investigation's outcome.
The bakery in question has not issued any public statement at the time of reporting.
