Illegally carried sown Sal logs & Non-Sal Logs seized in Kokrajhar, Two arrested

Kokrajhar: Forest staff of Ultapani under the leadership of ranger Dhiren Basumatary and SSB personal of Salapara have been carried out infrequent joint operation against the illegal cutters of valuable sal logs & nonsal logs at Ultapani & Saralpara Indo Bhutan bordering areas under Chirang Riphu Forest Reserve in Haltugaon Forest Division Kokrajhar District.

Two persons along with illegally carried sown sal logs and nonsal logs approximate 117 pieces and with their bi-cycle were arrested at Saralbhanga block near Saralbhanga river in the Ultapani forest range.

Talking to reporters, Dhiren Basumatary ranger of the Ultapani forest said that they have been jointly frequently doing operation drive in different locations in the Ultapani & Saralpara in Chirang Riphu Forest Reserve in Kokrajhar to stop the illegal cutters of timbers.

He said that the arrested two people have been identified as a Haria Hembrom age 20 years village of Jaipur Ultapani and Seman Bara age 25 years village of No-2 Birganj Ultapani in Ultapani forest range under Haltugaon Forest Division office in Kokrajhar.

Basumatary said that many valuable sal logs and nonsal logs and illegal cutters person were arrested and seized logs.
