New Delhi, February 25: Mobile phone subscribers will now be able to retain their numbers anywhere in the country even if they change their service providers as the telecom regulator will facilitate pan-India mobile network portability (MNP) from May 3 next, an official statement said here on Wednesday.
The sector regulator - Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) - has issued 6th Amendment to the Telecommunication Mobile Number Portability Regulation, 2009.
On November 3, 2014 the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) had issued amendment to the MNP Licence Agreement. (IANS)
