Nagaon: Sensation prevails in Nagaon’s Nanoi area after a retired army officer was shot to death by two unidentified miscreants at around 7 pm on Monday evening.
The retired army officer was identified as Dipen Nath.
As per eyewitnesses, assailants approached at his house on a motorcycle and barged into his residence. They shot him dead from the point-blank range and escaped from the spot thereafter.
Meanwhile, local police launched a search operation to nab the culprits.
It may also be mentioned that the identities of the assailants have not been ascertained yet.
