Tura LS Seat: NPP candidate Agatha K Sangma defeats former CM Mukul Sangma by a margin of 63,526 votes

Shillong: National People’s Party candidate from Tura Lok Sabha Constituency Agatha K Sangma came out victorious at the 17th Lok Sabha Elections beating former Chief Minister of Meghalaya and Indian National Congress candidate Mukul Sangma by a margin of 63,526 votes.

As per ECI report, sister of present Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Agatha K Sangma had been leading the polls from Tura with 302799 votes against former CM Mukul Sangma with 239023 votes.

The polling percentage till the final reports for Agatha K Sangma was around 52.25% and Dr. Mukul Sangma was around 41.25% vote.

Meanwhile, CM Conrad K Sangma in his tweet wrote, “NPP is proud of your victory. We wish you the very best as you embark on a new journey to represent the aspirations of the people of Garo Hills.”
