Silchar: In yet another big success for Railway Protection Force in a week, 300 bottles of cough syrup, listed as banned drug, have been seized from Down 55664 Silchar-Agartala fast passenger in Silchar on Thursday. As the train was to start from Silchar railway station at 8 am, the RPF team led B M Dhar, Inspector, during its routine check of the train, spotted 300 bottles of cough syrup in the bogey number 3 and seized them. The cough syrups were concealed in 3 bags. The smugglers who keep watch on the movement of RPF made their escape good. This is for the third time in a week that the bottles of cough syrup have been seized. Cough syrup, as reported earlier, is smuggled out to Bangladesh where it is in great demand. The seized goods are kept in the custody of RPF. Mrinal Mandal, station master, shared this information with the media.
