Dibrugarh University Completes First Phase Of Drone Service Technician Training Program

Conducted under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) initiative, the program focused on equipping participants with technical expertise in drone maintenance, repair and servicing.

DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh University has successfully completed the first phase of the Drone Service Technician training program under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0.

The five-day training program, which was organized in collaboration with the North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR), took place at DUIET's Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from February 24th to February 28th.

Conducted under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) initiative, the program focused on equipping participants with technical expertise in drone maintenance, repair, and servicing.

The training was led by senior NECTAR trainers Nitin Sharma and Gunjan Das and included 30 hours of intensive instruction. Participants received hands-on experience in drone assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance, covering various aspects of UAV technology.

The program was designed for students from electronics and communication, mechanical, and computer science engineering backgrounds, emphasizing the application of drone technology in sectors such as agriculture, disaster management, surveillance, and logistics.

The event was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Bhargabjyoti Saikia and Dr. Kaushik Das, Assistant Professors at DUIET, who served as nodal officers. Upon completion of the program, participants were awarded certification from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), recognizing their training in the UAV sector.
