DIBRUGARH: In a significant move, Barbaruah Police have cracked the murder case of businessman Uttam Gogoi, who was found dead in his residence on July 25. He was initially believed to have been killed by dacoits during a robbery. However, investigation has revealed that it was a carefully orchestrated murder planned by Gogoi's wife and daughter.

The incident occurred eight days ago and came to light after Dibrugarh police launched a detailed investigation. The police arrested Nobomallika Gogoi (wife), her daughter, Dipjyoti Buragohain (21), and a 17-year-old boy on Sunday morning in connection with the case.

According to officials, the victim, Uttam Gogoi, was allegedly murdered in a planned conspiracy, reportedly orchestrated by close family members. However, the exact motive behind the murder remains unclear, with authorities still piecing together the chain of events and the relationships between the accused.

Speaking to the media, Dibrugarh Police said, “We have made arrests based on strong leads and evidence, but the investigation is ongoing. The motive is yet to be fully established.” Sources suggest that the crime may have stemmed from personal or financial disputes, but no official confirmation has been made so far.

The case has sparked widespread outrage and curiosity among residents, especially due to the involvement of close family members. Police have assured that all angles are being explored, including digital communication, financial transactions, and possible prior threats.
