108 and 104 received Record number of calls during pandemic

GUWAHATI: While Sarathi 104 has received as many as 11,77,037 calls till June 13 from March 1 this year, Mrityunjay 108 receives on an average 5,500-6,000 calls daily. According to NHM (National Health Mission), Assam sources, 3,92,981 of the 11,77,037 calls received since March 1 this year were related to COVID-19. As many as 2,70,376 outgoing calls during the period were meant to trace train passengers. In case of Mrityunjay 108 service, 27,032 suspected COVID/confirmed cases were transported since March till June 13. It has 695 surface ambulances, eight boat ambulances and 235 adarani vehicles for drop back.
