GUWAHATI: 20 Parliamentary Committee (PC) members on the Welfare of SC and ST, led by its Chairman, Dr. (Prof.) Kirit P. Solanki, on a study visit to Guwahati, visited IIE's Rani, Bahupara Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Cluster on Saturday. Dr. Lalit Sharma, Director, felicitated the Chairman and its members at the Kendra in the presence of Members of Parliament from Assam Kamakhya Prasad Tasha, Queen Oja, Director WPTC, MD APTDC, Prasanta Goswami Senior Associate Faculty IIE, senior government and IIE officials, and the beneficiaries of the Kendra.
Dr. Lalit Sharma, while welcoming the members, elaborated about the beneficiaries of the Kendra engaged in different economic activities like handloom, food processing, nursery, bakery, etc., and highlighted IIE's intervention for the villagers to enhance their livelihood through different activities.
The members of the Parliamentary Committee directly interacted with beneficiaries of the Rani Bahupara Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Cluster and witnessed how this Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Cluster has enriched their livelihood while visiting the exhibition stalls that showcased the products of the beneficiaries.
