200 grams suspected Gold Biscuits seized at Rangia Railway Station, One apprehended

Rangia: Rangia Government Railway Police (GRP) on Wednesday picked up a person from the waiting room at the Railway Station under suspicion and recovered around 200 grams of suspected gold biscuits from his possession.

The person identified as Sajal Debnath (34) son of Satis Chandra Debnath is a resident of Kalabagan area under Kochbihar Police Station.

Rangia Government Railway Police also recovered some silver metals from his possession as well.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Rangia Government Railway Police (GRP) Sub-Inspector, Moniul Haque said, “We apprehended the person under suspicion from Platform No 1 at Rangia Railway Station at around 7 pm in the evening. We have handed over the suspected seized gold biscuits and silver metals to the customs department later.”

A case has been taken up by the Customs Department.

Meanwhile, Guwahati Government Railway Police had informed The Sentinel Digital that the customs department had produced the alleged accused before the court in connection to the above-mentioned incident on Thursday.
