211th World Braille Day observed at Guwahati Blind High School

GUWAHATI: The 211th World Braille Day, the birthday of Louis Braille, was celebrated at Guwahati Blind High School at Bashistha here on Saturday.

Speaking at the celebrations, Pratibandi Suraksha Santha, Assam (PSSA) secretary Nripen Malakar said, “A section people is using visually impaired people for their personal benefits and that should be stopped forthwith. The government should lay stress on all-round development of visually challenged people.”

The celebration was attended by other dignitaries as well. The programme began with the hoisting of the flag by the school headmaster Bhaben Barman in the morning. The celebration was organized under the aegis of the Sadou Asom Drishtiheen Chatra Santa and Guwahati Blind High School.
