26 Health Care Trades in Guwahati penalized for functioning in Unhygienic Condition

Guwahati: Health Branch of Guwahati Municipal Corporation conducted an intensive drive on May 10, 2019 at Ganeshguri areas under the supervision of Senior Medical Officer in respect of health and sanitation of various health care trades.

During the inspection, the trades running without valid trade licenses, defaulters in the renewal of trade license and those functioning in unhygienic condition have been identified and accordingly requisite penalties were imposed as per GMC Act followed by issuances of notices. A total of 26 health care trades have been inspected and Rs 14,000 has been realized towards penalties. These activities will be continued by Health Branch, GMC till improvement of health scenario in the city.

Meanwhile, GMC made an appeal to all the traders to ensure cleanliness and hygiene of their respective trades, any violation of the norms will be viewed seriously for which stringent measures will be taken as per provision of GMC Act.
