GUWAHATI: In two separate incidents on Wednesday, the police has seized as many as 32 cattle which were being transported illegally from the State to Meghalaya.
In the first incident, a team of the Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) from the Paltanbazaar Police Station intercepted a Tata DI truck at Ulubari while it was trying to smuggle six cattle from Nalbari to Meghalaya. Two miscreants, Md Imlarul Zamir of Balikuchi and
Md Ibharem Ali of Pub Kalakucke were arrested in the case.
In the second incident, a team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from the Khetri Police Station intercepted a truck (AS04 BC 0211) at Topatoli and seized 26 cattle which were being smuggled from Amoni to Byrnihat. Two persons, Ekramul Hoque of Juria and Md Ajharul Islam of Dhing were arrested in this connection.
