Binoy Bhusan Choudhury left for his heavenly abode on October 20,, 2020 at the age of 80 years. He was ill for over a year. I came to know Khura since 1981 when I married his niece Manima, daughter of Dr. D. C. Choudhury, his elder brother. B. B. Choudhury was born to the illustrious Choudhury family of Makhibaha, Nalbari. He was the 7thof eight siblings and the youngest of the five brothers. He completed his school education in Nalbari and I.Sc. from Cotton College and passed out from Assam Engineering College as an Electrical Engineer. He had a brilliant academic career. He joined the ASEB and rose to the position of Chief Engineer and Member Technical.

Khura fondly called Bapu, married 'Mani Mahi' younger sister of my mother-in-law, from the Barua family of Dhubri. BapuKhura, was an extremely gentle and loving personality. He was known for his discipline and punctuality having a positive attitude for life. When he was undergoing treatment in Delhi, I visited him and he was very happy to see me and was in good spirits. We had visited him in his Ambikagiri Nagar residence, a few days before his demise and we found him in good spirit and we talked about a lot of things. He never once expressed any discomfort or uneasiness about his health. He was very independent and was driving his car himself till he fell ill. He loved to walk and kept himself very fit with long walks and gardening. He was involved in many social activities after he retired from service. I and my wife Manima enjoyed a very close relationship with BapuKhura. Khura enjoyed his life with his family and friends. I have some wonderful memories of celebrating 'Uruka' and 'picnics' together which were truly enjoyable. He was fond of travelling and visited many places in India and abroad with his family. Overall, khura had a good and satisfying life.

He left behind his daughter Rupa and son Raj who are well settled in life and a host of grand children besides his dear wife EshaChoudhury (Mani Mahi).

On this day of his AdyaShraddha, I pay my homage to the departed soul and pray to the almighty that his soul may rest in peace.
