GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metro district administration has signed 132 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various entrepreneurs and business establishments, worth a staggering Rs 565 crore. This massive investment is expected to create a whopping 16,831 jobs in various sectors, providing a much-needed fillip to the local employment scenario.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, who inked the agreements with the investors. The signed agreements primarily aim to strengthen local industries, with notable projects including Merchants Royal Riviera Eco Resort, Mahamaya Enterprise, Sneha’s Cake and Bakes, Bihangam India LLP, and Merchants Tara Enterprise, among others.
The investment boost is part of the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and industrial growth in the state. The event was attended by District Development Commissioner Parijat Bhuyan, Additional Director of Industries and Commerce Umesh Kumar, officials from the district administration, and investors. With this massive investment, the Kamrup Metro district is poised for significant economic growth and development.
