AIIMS Guwahati organised the Northeast Autism Conclave, a regional gathering aimed at strengthening neurodevelopmental care and improving early intervention for children and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The event drew a wide cross-section of participants — including medical experts, policymakers, healthcare workers, teachers, and families — with representation from institutions across India and the Northeast region.
Dignitaries including Prof. Ashok Puranik, Prof. Devendra Jalihal and Dr. Lakshmanan S. attended the inaugural session. A patient information booklet on autism was released during the programme, while a parent support initiative and scientific sessions focused on early screening, intervention and inclusive care.
