GUWAHATI: The All Assam Secondary Additional Teachers' Association has alleged even after the State Government recently arranged for payment of their salaries under the Rules of Pay (ROP) instead of the Fixation of Ceiling (FOC) system, non-cooperation by the staff of various Treasury offices has resulted in non-receipt of salary by additional teachers of many schools.
The Association's chief Advisor, Mohidhar Kalita has said that the majority of Treasury offices are citing various rules and displaying unwillingness to release the salaries of additional teachers. This is tantamount to mental harassment, he said.
Kalita urged the Education Department to look into the matter and take necessary steps so that the additional teachers receive their salaries on time.
