GUWAHATI: Star Event Production hosted its 25th annual achiever's award ceremony at ITA, Machkhowa, Guwahati, recently. The event, graced by legendary actress Poonam Dhillon, honoured outstanding individuals from the entertainment industry who have shown exceptional dedication and resilience.
Among the recipients, Raj Paul, an internationally acclaimed dancer, received the Popular Debut Dance Choreographer award. His story of determination and perseverance moved the audience. Despite a tragic accident in 2019, in which he was hit by a train, Raj Paul has continued to dance and inspire others. Today, he teaches at two dance schools: Chenikuthi and VIP Borjhar. To support his treatment, Sarukh Ali and Dhrubajyoti Sharma, directors of Star Event Production, felicitated him with a cheque of Rs. 50,000.
Another celebrated artist, Pranati Goswami, received the 'Popular Kathak Dancer' award. As a critically acclaimed Kathak dancer with over 12 years of teaching experience, Pranati holds Visharad credentials from both Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith and Prayag Sangit Samiti. Her exceptional performances at national-level functions and at Doordarshan Kendra in Guwahati have earned her widespread recognition. Pranati also runs Triveni Cultural Academy, where she nurtures young talents and provides them with opportunities to showcase their skills on various occasions at Doordarshan Kendra. Additionally, her dedication to art led her to explore Xatriya dance, which she has also performed in several places across Assam.
The Achiever's Award Night also celebrated the contributions of other esteemed artists like Kingkini Goswami, Meghranjani Medhi, Shyamontika Sharma, Moloya Goswami, and Chetana Das, further adding to the glimmer of the event., stated a press release.
