GUWAHATI: The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) will shortly launch a web portal to collect flood-related information from ground level.
During flood season, the State government relies on ground-level reports to analyze the flood situation. According to ASDMA sources, as of now it is a lengthy process to send flood-related information offline from the ground level. With government employees being deputed in different areas, collecting information from ground level and submitting the same online will boost the flood-control initiatives of the ASDMA. Later, all the reports will be compiled Centrally, the source added.
The portal has been developed by the ASDMA on behalf of the State government.
