Assam: ‘Ansuni Chinkhe’ wins Best Asian Short Film at Kollywood International Film Festival

Guwahati: “Ansuni Chinkhe,” a short film written and directed by Dr. Parthasarathi Mahanta, IPS, has been honoured with the Best Asian Short Film Award at the Kollywood International Film Festival in Chennai.

The experimental film, based on a poem penned by Dr. Mahanta, features a powerful soliloquy by acclaimed actress Seema Biswas. Produced by Mina Mahanta and Indrani Baruah, the film has already made waves on the festival circuit, having won Best Short Film at the Jaipur Film Festival, Delhi Film Festival, and Independent Film Festival Kolkata. Further elevating its prestige, Ansuni Chinkhe was also screened at the esteemed Marché du Film at Cannes, France.
