GUWAHATI: In a proud achievement for Assam, as the nation is celebrating the 4th Anniversary of Ayushman Bharat - Health & Wellness Centres, Assam has been awarded 1st prize for performing the highest number of teleconsultations among the Northeastern States.
A press release stated that India is marching towards achieving Universal Health Coverage envisioned in National Health Policy 2017, through establishment of Ayushman Bharat - Health & Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) across the country. As the nation is celebrating 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate 75 years of Independence, various events are being organized by different ministries. The National Health Mission is contributing in transformation of primary health care services and strengthening the health care infrastructure in an effective manner.
Assam has operationalized eSanjeevani teleconsultation services in more than 3,300 Health & Wellness Centres and is among the top 10 performing States in the country with 5,51,277 patients benefitting through teleconsultation till April 15, 2022. Various activities - health awareness camps, NCD screenings, wellness sessions and Yoga sessions - have been performed across the AB-HWCs in the State in an attempt to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of AB-HWCs.
