GUWAHATI: The Assam College Teachers' Association (ACTA) has taken the initiative to publish a book titled Border Disputes in Northeast India.
ACTA has invited research papers/articles from teachers, research scholars and policymakers on the theme or on the sub-themes. The sub-themes that the book will include are – Tracing the history of border dispute in NE India; Socia-political and economic implications of border dispute in NE India; Dynamics of Assam-Nagaland-Mizoram border disputes; Understanding Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border dispute; An inquiry into Assam-Nagaland/Mizoram border dispute; Government initiatives in resolving border disputes of NE India; Initiatives at non-government level in resolving the issue of border dispute in NE India; Limitations of governmment policies in solving border dispute in NE India; and border dispute in NE India: Searching for solution, border dispute and its solution: Role of NE India's academic community.
ACTA office bearers said that the book would look into the issue of border dispute in the north-eastern region from some new perspectives and help addressing the border problem in the region.
