GUWAHATI: The Director of Secondary Education, Assam, has asked the inspectors of schools of all districts in the state, including the hill districts, to submit the corrected bank account details of the 1,361 beneficiaries of the Anundoram Borooah Cash Award Scheme (ARBAS), 2024.
The director informed the inspectors of schools that out of a total of 26,969 eligible beneficiaries of the Anundoram Borooah Cash Award Scheme (ARBAS), 2024, the amount of the award could not be disbursed to the bank accounts of 1,361 beneficiaries due to wrong/incorrect bank account details or non-receiving of their bank account details through online mode.
The director has also instructed the inspectors of schools to ensure that (i) the bank account must be in the name of the awardee.
(ii) The awardee should submit the correct IFS Code (in case of a merger of banks, the new bank IFSC is to be entered).
(iii) The bank account should be active/operational.
(iv) For minor account holders, the maximum credit limit should be maintained.
(v) Care should be taken while entering the bank account details (like, numeric 0 (zero) should be entered, not the alphabet ‘O’).
The district-wise breakup of the 1,361 beneficiaries include 32 from Baksa and Tamulpur, 94 from Barpeta and Bajali, 23 from Biswanath, 15 from Bongaigaon, 79 from Cachar, 11 from Charaideo, 39 from Chirang, 58 from Darrang, 21 from Dhemaji, 34 from Dhubri, 75 from Dibrugarh, six from Dima Hasao, 33 from Goalpara, 58 from Golaghat, 27 from Hailakandi, 42 from Hojai, 37 from Jorhat, 124 from Kamrup (Metro), 102 from Kamrup, 12 from Karbi Anglong, 16 from Kokrajhar, 75 from Lakhimpur, six from Majuli, 28 from Morigaon, 37 from Nagaon, 53 from Nalbari, 39 from Sivasagar, 51 from Sonitpur, 25 from South Salmara, 21 from Sribhumi, 43 from Tinsukia, 40 from Udalguri and three from Karbi Anglong.
Each of the students securing 75 per cent and above marks in HSLC examinations gets Rs 15,000 under the Anundoram Borooah Cash Award Scheme.
