GUWAHATI: A shocking scandal has rocked Guwahati, with allegations of an organized network using dating apps to exploit photos of young women for illicit activities. The racket, reportedly managed by a group operating out of a unisex salon in the city, has been accused of negotiating sexual transactions using the stolen images.
According to police sources, the network allegedly uses WhatsApp to share the images with potential clients, leaving victims, including journalists and women from other professional fields, traumatized. The perpetrators allegedly download images from social media platforms to expand their illicit operations.
