GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has sought three months' time to place on record the subsequent developments on the issue of rationalization of the boundary of Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary before the Gauhati High Court.

A division bench of the high court comprising Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi and Justice Suman Shyam heard the PIL (27/2013) recently.

The Advocate General of Assam submitted that the process of rationalisation of the boundary of Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary, in consultation with the State Board for Wildlife, is under process. It is contended that some meetings have already taken place in this regard. However, more deliberations are required before completing the process of rationalisation of the boundary of Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary to ensure that the least number of inhabitants of the area are affected, the Advocate General said. The Advocate General prays for three months to place on record the subsequent developments on the issue of rationalisation of the boundary of Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary.

The bench listed the PIL for its next hearing after three months.
