Assam: Drugs worth Rs 5 crore seized near Jagiroad railway station

The Jagiroad police on Sunday night seized 105 grams of illegal drugs worth Rs 5 crore from the possession of a woman from near the Jagiroad railway station.

JAGIROAD: The Jagiroad police on Sunday night seized 105 grams of illegal drugs worth Rs 5 crore from the possession of a woman from near the Jagiroad railway station. The illegal drugs were being carried in 9 small boxes. The woman has been identified as Sofia from Manipur. She confessed before the police that the drugs were to be handed over to some illegal traders in Jagiroad. It is worth mentioning that many dry fish traders from Manipur assemble at Jagiroad dry fish market near Jagiroad railway station and a section of illegal traders take advantage of the busy market here. An investigation was launched in the matter.
