GUWAHATI: In a significant development, the Gauhati High Court has granted bail to Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), in connection with alleged CBSE exam anomalies on Monday. Hoque was arrested by Assam police in the wee hours of February 22 from his residence in Guwahati, accused of malpractice in CBSE examinations. The court granted bail to Hoque in Case No. 54/25 of Patharkandi Police Station. However, his petition in the second FIR, Case No. 55/24, is yet to be taken up by the High Court, which will hear the bail petition on Tuesday.
