Assam Government Sanctioned Rs 5 Crore For 10 Mini Cinema Halls

GUWAHATI: Amidst a flurry of posh cinema halls opened in the recent past, the government has sanctioned Rs five crore to set up 10 new mini cinema halls across the state. Although five halls are pre –existing and will only undergo renovation, five brand new halls will also be set up.

Construction works are expected to commence before the end of this year and the sanctioned money will be distributed among ten beneficiaries. Assam State Film (Finance and Development Corporation (ASFFDC) Chairman Jatin Bora said, “It is indeed a commendable move from the part of our government which has taken a keen interest on the revival of the Assamese film industry. Further, the acceptance for the opening of another 35 halls also excites me. This is an effort that will push the growth of the industry in the right direction.”
