Assam: Guwahati Police Cracks Down on Traffic Violations on New Year’s Eve

In a bid to ensure road safety on New Year’s Eve, the Guwahati Traffic Police has launched a special operation to crackdown on drivers violating traffic rules.

GUWAHATI: In a bid to ensure road safety on New Year’s Eve, the Guwahati Traffic Police has launched a special operation to crackdown on drivers violating traffic rules. The operation, which began at the Guwahati Club, will continue throughout the city until midnight. Traffic IGP and newly appointed Guwahati Police Commissioner Dr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta attended the operation at TC School Point, which aims to catch drivers who are drunk, not wearing seatbelts, or not wearing helmets.

Police Commissioner Dr. Mahanta said, “We are taking strict measures to ensure road safety, and drivers found violating traffic rules will face penalties. Additionally, driving without a valid license, registration certificate, or insurance can also lead to fines and penalties.”

The Guwahati Traffic Police have urged drivers to follow traffic rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve celebration. With the special operation in place, drivers can expect strict enforcement of traffic rules, and those found violating them will face the consequences.
