Guwahati: A delegation from the Indian Association of Japan met State Health Minister Ashok Singhal at Janata Bhawan today to discuss potential investment opportunities in the state. The meeting primarily focused on investments in the healthcare sector, along with other key areas. The delegation also deliberated on how Japan could assist in controlling the rising burden of non-communicable diseases in Assam and India.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister Singhal stated that the Japanese delegation expressed interest in investing in Assam’s healthcare infrastructure, waste management, and other related sectors. He further mentioned that an Assamese delegation would visit Japan in the near future to take these discussions forward.
Highlighting the state’s investment-friendly environment, Singhal credited the success of the Advantage Assam initiative and the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for attracting unprecedented foreign investment. Today’s discussions, he said, reaffirm Assam’s growing potential as a preferred destination for global investors.
