Guwahati: A 47-year-old man was found dead on the Gauhati University campus on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Mainul Islam, who was discovered hanging behind the administrative building of the university. The deceased has been identified as Mainul Islam. Islam worked as a security guard on the campus and is suspected to have taken his own life. Police were called to the scene, and the body was subsequently transported to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for postmortem.
The incident was reported to the Jalukbari Police Outpost. A police official, while talking to the media, said, “Islam was discovered hanging at the backside of the administrative building of Gauhati University. As per preliminary investigation, he ended his life due to a family dispute.” Further investigation is under way.
