Assam Police has made over 900 arrests with 393 cases being registered amid lockdown

GUWAHATI: Amid the 21-day nationwide lockdown, Assam Police has made 930 arrests in the state with 393 cases being registered till 4 pm, Friday. According to reports, the total number of incidents reported till 4 pm Friday, stands at 685. Additionally, 3632 vehicles have been detained since the lockdown started. It is to be mentioned that in one such incident, police personnel fired in the air at a market place in Assam on March 28 after people pelted stones at them. Eight country boats have also been seized. A total fine of Rs. 12,66,400 have been imposed so far.
