GUWAHATI, Aug 9: In an effort to make the process of lodging complaints to the police stations easy and transparent, the Assam Police has developed a mobile application under the project titled ‘Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS)’. A source in the Assam Police said that the application has already become operational while waiting for a formal inauguration. According to the source, the application will enable an individual to lodge a complaint from a far off area without visiting the concern police station which will reduce time and the growing tension among the complainants. Accordingly, after conducting a thorough examination, if the complaint calls for necessary action, the complainant will be called to the police station for his/her signature to initiate further procedure.
